so much empty land
Jk n i decided to go to Jerry's @ Jalan Kayu for dinner tonight. wanted to try somewhere new. ordered their famous ribs (half slab), famous chicken wings and a serving of nachos with cheese. think we ordered too much coz we had problems trying to finish the food.
After dinner, we wanted to take a look at the nearby sunset grill @ seletar airbase. we were surprised at the number of cars turning into the airbase road. cars from all directions. we couldn't find the location of sunset grill.
While driving thru seletar camp, we realised that spore has so much empty land! it was dark and deserted. feeling adventurous, wedecided to follow a convoy of cars which were cutting thru a rather deserted road. ended up driving along the seletar reservior and out to yishun! so exciting! we saw many cars parked along the main road at seletar reservior and lots of pple hanging out there with snacks and drinks.
Once we were back to "civilisation" at yishun, we merely followed the road all the way straight and ended up at ang mo kio. finally found the way to CTE and decided to go orchard to take in the xmas lightings. guess everyone was thinking of the similar idea coz orchard road was rather jammed at 10.30pm++!! we drove towards suntec to see if there were any interesting xmas displays. sadly, none.
our last stop was the newly opened marina barrage. the carpark was packed! many people were parking illegally along the road leading to the barrage. i couldn't believe my eyes! think many sporeans are equally as boliao as JK & myself with nowhere else to go. i'm just amazed at the crowd at the barrage at past 11pm on a sat nite!
after a quick stroll around the barrage, we decided to head home. i felt a sense of security while driving on the aye as it was somewhere familiar to me. (as compared to seletar and marina barrage). home sweet home indeed...
