babies

ended work late today (what else is new?) and went to my colleague's house to visit her 5month old son.her son was super active today. normally when i visit, he's either 1) going to fall asleep or 2)is sleeping. most of the time, it's wrong timing to visit. today's exceptionally active.

i think babies have this ultra adorable face which make you wanna pick them up and play with them. i enjoy playing with kids but i doubt i have the capability of raising one myself. playing and raising are totally 2 different matters. haha!

anyway,i had a good time tonight playing with my fren's son.hope he grows up to be even more adorable and handsome. hahahaha!

weekend...

here's how i spent my weekend:
sat:
-rolled out of bed around 10am+ and sis suggested going batam to shop. there's a megamall that opened a few months ago and it's situated just across the bridge from the ferry terminal.
-washed up, changed and left for harbourfront to catch a ferry there. (total cost to & fro including seaport tax is $33/pax) ferry ride took almost an hr to arrive.
-megamall looks big but is disappointly empty.the upper levels are mostly vacant shop spaces. the shops aren't nice to shop around either. ended up eating A&W.
-bought some groceries from the hypermart. the toiletries are ultra cheap. saw a few sporeans carting bags and bags of stuff from the hypermart.
-went back to spore around 6pm and met fren at holland v.
-browsed around parisilk (they sell really cheap electronic goods!i saved almost $100 on my LG DVD portable player compared to best denki n harvey norman). unfortunately the guy who took my order for the LG portable dvd player somehow myteriously misplaced my name. i left my name again and they forgotten to call me today.
-ate dinner @ NYDC. food quality not that fantastic.
-went home around 9.40pm.

sun:
-rotted 1/3 of the day at home.
-at 2pm, decided to go vivocity to shop n take photos with my new S3.
-saw a lot of people carrying super pro digi cams around and realised there was a photography competition.
-vivo is super crowded as usual while harbourfront is the total opposite.
-met frens for dinner around 5pm
-chit chat till around 8pm+ and left for home
-super exhausted at the end of the day. most prob due to the humidity and heat during the day.

new toy!

bought the canon s3is from best denki on sat afternoon.my initial plan was to buy a DVD player with DIVX function to put in my room so that i can watch my anime. ended up buying the canon instead. it's one of the cameras which i've been eyeing for a some time but just can't bear to part the $$ to buy.

it started when i was just browsing the digicam section at best denki @ plaza singapura while waiting for my fren to come. we were going to watch oceans 13 (btw, the show's not bad, touched mainly on emotional parts instead of having many action scenes). she was a little late so i was looking around the digicams b4 going to the DVD players. canon s3 caught my eye coz the price tag stated $599 (the usual price is $699). naturally the frenly sales guy came over to ask if i needed help. he saw my interest in that camera and said it was the display pc and going on sale. next moment, he proceeded to call his manager for a 'best' price and offered me $499. i was amazed! i never expect the price to drop so low.

the 'manager' came and offered me the final price of $449.it was too tempting to reject and i bought the camera. the 'manager' threw in various freebies such as screen protector, 4 rechargeable batteries & charger, canon digicam kit (was supposed to get the leather case but they misplaced the original case and gave me this kit as goodwill)and 2pcs of 2GB SD cards.that's quite a fair bit of things. of coz i'm ultra happy! got the cam i wanted at such a bargain. of coz the cam is not in perfect condition. there're minor scratches on the exterior of the cam but the lens & LCD screen are fine.

have already put the cam to good use yesterday at pergenrang.my family went there with a bunch of relatives on a coach. it was a day trip and i used it to test out some functions of the cam such as 12X optical zoom (super useful!), movie with stereo recording and other scene modes. the start up is definitely 10times faster than my cybershot. i've got lotsa things to learn abt this cam as it's a step below a full fledge SLR. the only disadvantage is the weight of the cam (slightly more than half a kg).

my cybershot won't be put to sleep yet as it's still serving me well.it'll take me some time to figure out this new toy. probably hv to borrow books on digital photography from the library soon. haha...:)
